About me

Thank you for your interest in my services. By visiting my website, you have already taken the first step towards solving your (language) problems. Since I don't work with translation agencies, you can only acquire my high-quality services by hiring me directly. Your advantage: transparent and personal communication, fast reactions and translations that are better quality and perfectly adapted to your needs. Plus, you don't pay any agency fees, which means you even save a lot of money when ordering your translation directly from me.

And what else speaks in favor of hiring me? First of all, there is my personal and professional background. Born and raised in a multicultural environment in Germany, I knew quite early on that I would like to become a translator. Ever since I was a young boy, I have had a passion for learning everything about languages and cultures. Now it is my profession. I hold a

Since 2013, I have been working as a freelance graduate translator, interpreter, transcreator and editor for English, French, Danish and German.

I am also publicly appointed and sworn in by the president of the Higher Regional Court of Dresden, Germany, as a

  • translator for the English and French language and
  • interpreter for the English language

for legal and official purposes. So if you want your translated documents to stand up in court, they are in good hands with me.

However, I have gained professional experience not only in times of self-employment. I also worked as a Research Associate at Hildesheim University, Institute for Translatology and Technical Communication, where I was teaching translation students. I held seminars on academic writing and gave courses on general language translation and audiovisual translation at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

And because I never tire of learning about translation myself, I later earned my doctorate in Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies from Leipzig University with a dissertation on the topic of trade advertising as a means to compare cultural differences in text production strategies. My dissertation has been published as a print on demand paperback and as an e-book. You can find more information about it here.

As a holiday and sick leave cover for the translation project management team, I also regularly worked for a global language service provider and am therefore very familiar with both sides of a translation project—that of the client and that of the translator.

I also worked for Technische Universität Braunschweig as Head of Translation Service.

In February 2023, I joined BELIMO Automation Deutschland GmbH as Translation Lead, where I am responsible for the quality of the company's translation processes.

I offer high-quality translations from English, French and Danish into my native language German. In cooperation with other freelance technical translators, I also offer translations into English, French and Danish by native speakers.

Furthermore, I offer related language services such as interpretingproofreading and desktop publishing.

I mainly work for quality-driven translation buyers, be it NGOs, premium-market companies or small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the service, manufacturing or purpose-first sector.

In addition, as a sworn translator, I support companies, public authorities, courts as well as private individuals in Dresden and worldwide with certified translations of certificates, diplomas and other official documents.

Already during my studies, I have acquired expert knowledge across a range of different domains. I mainly translate texts in the fields of

  • business and trade (including texts on political and economical topics, international cooperation and development as well as sustainability, environmental protection and nature conservation),
  • technology (especially climate protection technologies, environmental and energy technology),
  • intercultural corporate communication (marketing/market research, advertising and public relations) as well as
  • certificates and diplomas.

I can also translate texts from other areas for you if you wish, or will be happy to recommend a competent colleague.

My other specialty is the creative translation of advertising and PR texts (also called transcreation). I published a book dealing with the differences between English and German marketing texts and the challenges and strategies of translating advertising material. You can find more information on my book here.

Thanks to my solid know-how, I can offer accurate translations in my fields of expertise. By participating in (online) seminars and advanced training courses, I am constantly striving to expand my knowledge in my specialist areas. This way, I keep track of current industry developments and the latest terminology.

In my free time, I volunteer as a translator for Translators without Borders, providing free German translations to humanitarian organizations to promote linguistic inclusion and a more equitable access to information.

You care about well-written texts? Perfect, so do I. And that is why I would be happy to support you. With me as your one-stop service provider, you have an expert partner for everything related to language and culture. As an experienced and creative translator, interpreter and transcreator, I can offer customized solutions tailored to your needs.
